Marc

I have enlisted two young attorneys to help with this project, Jennifer Lisi and Katie Morin.  The first step of which is to get a conflict check run which I do not anticipate being an issue.  Next, an engagement letter will need to be executed whereby you “hire” the firm.  Next, we have a pro bono application that .  That will be submitted to one of the Chairs of the Pro Bono committee for approval.  Ironically, I am one of the Pro Bono Chairs.

Usually, our pro bono work covers the legal fees associated with the time spent by the sponsor attorneys (here Jennifer and Katie).  We do not cover “costs” such as the state filing fees and the like.  Here, we need to figure out how to address the fees and costs associated with the 501(c)(3) application.  Often, those need to be covered by the applicant.  We will try to get an estimate, but my past experience (which is a bit dated) says it was about $7,500.

I will have someone get a conflict check run. Marc, can you provide us with names and addresses of the proposed directors?

I will have the 501(c)(3) application fees and costs checked.

Marc – we are looking forward to working with you and your group.

 Regards
