“Me” Murals
Mosaic Pieces: The children first make a mosaic with construction paper, and then we hand out ply wood pieces covered with ceramic tile adhesive/grout. They put tiles, shells, beads, and more to create a mosaic. This piece will last for decades.
Plaster Piece Painting--Children love painting these pieces, and ran when they get clear spray, they become great!
Flower Pot Painting: The flower pots are painted and sealed, and we bring spider plants to put into the pots!
Mask Making and Parade Event:
Drawing original and from “How-To” pictures: Chikdlen truly enjoy this workshop, for they can draw pictures that look great, and they can make as many as they want. It is a great way to overcome the fear of drawing. We work with shapes and line first, and hen we move onto different ways to draw. We find this does a lot to give all of the children more confidence.
Broadway Workshop: We create characters with Facebook paint and make-up. We bring lots of costumes, and the supplies for the children to make their own costumes. They create characters for themselves, and we do exercises leading up to monologues, short plays or even a parade! We video tape the end pieces!!
